Dadchelor Parties

Daddy Clay talks to Beth Feldman, Founder and President of RoleMommy.com about a few "dad trends." Dads are becoming more involved with everything from the very beginning, including doctors appointments and even baby showers. A Dadchelor party is a get together for new Dads that is essentially, diapers for beer. Guest bring diapers and beer is served while you watch movies or maybe the game. At a Dadchelor party, baby kegger, ok, strippers, not ok. (Trust us on this one.) Another great idea for new Dads is to take the Mom-to-be on a "Babymoon" where she gets pampered and can relax. Well, relax as much as one can when building a human. Episode 868

Labor and Delivery Tips for Dads

Daddy Brad and Daddy Clay help get Daddy Danny ready for the impending delivery of his first child. Tips include knowing where the vending machines are at the hospital, and bringing plenty of change. Perhaps even pack your own snacks, or even a picnic type meal for after the baby is born.

Once at the hospital, learn the nurses names, and be polite(but not too polite or the Mom will hurt you), because they will be taking care of you for the next couple of days. Don't be afraid to let them know your wishes, but a positive vibe will make things much smoother and happier for all involved.

In the room remember these important points: Adjustable bed, use those buttons 'til she is comfortable, then don't touch them unless asked. Do not touch the TV remote, it is not for Dads! You CAN use the bathroom, #1 ONLY. Be sure your camera/phone batteries are charged, but don't miss the experience being behind the camera. A playlist of Mom's favorite songs and knowing how to give good footrubs are a good idea.

Don't forget that Push Present! Just a small gift after things have settled down to show your appreciation for her bringing your child into the world. And remember to hold that baby as much as possible! Good luck Danny! Hope everything comes out ok Miranda!
