Hi there!

So I was looking for videos to choose a child seat and knew about this site.

I knew it's THE dad's site when saw the "cutting the umbilical cord" video.

Babycenter is cool but wanted something similar to "art of manliness" and here I am.

What else? ...

Oh yeah! the little one! we're expecting our 1st for mid may, it's gonna be a boy! I'm George and because I'm the one that's gonna carry on the diaper bag I was thinking to buy just a backpack, hehehehe.

Hi, George.

Welcome to the site and Fatherhood.

Go with the backpack, it'll be more functional.

George,

Congratulations on your upcoming little guy. It is a very exciting time. You will remember every bit of it.

We just had our firstborn, also a boy, in November and I have found this site to be a really good resource.

I agree with Ben about diaper bags. We received a diaper bag as a gift from a friend, but we have since switched over to using an old backpack. It is easier to carry around, and more functional. We don't put much in ours - spare outfit, diapers, a plastic trash bag, a pack of wipes, and a little vinyl sheet (to set him on while we're changing him). You can fit all that stuff in a little backpack, easily.

Cheers, and again, congratulations!

Welcome George!

Glad you found us and I hope you find the site fun and useful. Don't be shy about posting topics -- you'll get more out of the site that way.

I think the backpack is a great idea if you prefer that to a messenger style.

If you are looking for other dad sites, you might also check out DadWagon and DadCentric for funny, observational blogs written by pros.

See you around the site.

Hi George, Welcome and congrats. Backpack is a great way to go, my CamelBack became the diaper pack for my first. This time around I got a Scout and now I use it for my laptop bag.

Welcome to the Labs! Being a Dad is so cool.

Here's a thread (you may have seen already) that gives lots o' input on diaper bags. +1 vote for the backpack for sure.
