Greetings fellow daddy-o's! I've been lurking for some time now, but I figured while I finally have a few minutes, I'll introduce myself.

My wife and I had a 35 week preemie in January. She'll be 6 weeks old tomorrow (Friday 25 February 2011). It's nice to have her home after her stay in the NICU for 3 weeks.

I also wanted to reach out to any preemie dads that may need someone to talk to. My best advice is to start a blog about everything. It really helped me express my wife and I's feelings and stay in touch with family who's out of state. It also helps not having to call 30 people while you're at the hospital. Hey importmonkey, Welcome fellow preemie dad! Mine was a 32 weeker -- also a NICU stay of about 3 weeks. Talking is a great thing for dads. Check out handtohold.org -- a non-profit here in Austin set up to facilitate that very thing. The blog is also a great idea. I look forward to having a look.

Thanks, Daddy Clay. I just watched your videos on preemie babies and my wife and I are checking out Hand to Hold along with March of Dimes. Great job on all the videos, by the way. Cheers!
