New to dad labs and new to pregnancy
2 Years, 7 Months ago
Hey guys,
I've been lurking for a while and decided to introduce myself. I've really enjoyed the site, the videos are great and I hope to get some good advice from other dads!

A little background: My wife and I have been trying to get pregnant nearly 4 years. After 3 years we went to a fertility clinic. After months and months of tests, we ended up doing IVF and are now 12 weeks pregnant with twins!

I'll spare the details, but I will just say that the process has been an emotional roller coaster of the likes I've never seen or felt before. And the ride is far from over...

Well, Welcome Razorhog. Hopefully you find all the answers you're looking for in the videos and feel free to ask anything that's on your mind.

It's a tough journey into fatherhood. It sounds like the path you've taken to get this far has been uphill already. You'll do just fine.

HI Razorhog, I'm also new to the site but seems like a great place to chat with others about baby stuff.

My wife and I are 7 weeks away from our first, it's a boy and we're stoked.

Trying to figure out a good crib size now to fit in our small appartment, we were going for a bassinet at first but turns out you can only use those for up to 15 lbs, and that could turn out to be a matter of weeks depending on how the baby grows.

Hope the twins turn out healthy and happy!

Yeah, we decided against bassinets too. Thanks for the warm wishes, same to you!

We had my parents get us a bassinet for this one. It converts into a toy box, so it's not a loss. By the time the baby grows to it's capacity, our big boy should be in a toddler bed and we'll be able to move the baby into the crib. Anything else would be too big for our bedroom and we don't want the baby in the kid's room until s/he is sleeping through the night.

Dadchelor Parties

Daddy Clay talks to Beth Feldman, Founder and President of RoleMommy.com about a few "dad trends." Dads are becoming more involved with everything from the very beginning, including doctors appointments and even baby showers. A Dadchelor party is a get together for new Dads that is essentially, diapers for beer. Guest bring diapers and beer is served while you watch movies or maybe the game. At a Dadchelor party, baby kegger, ok, strippers, not ok. (Trust us on this one.) Another great idea for new Dads is to take the Mom-to-be on a "Babymoon" where she gets pampered and can relax. Well, relax as much as one can when building a human. Episode 868
