TOPIC: Military Dad

Military Dad
2 Years, 1 Month ago
So my wife and I have decided to try and have a baby. I'm in the military and work with dogs. I'm nervous and excited. Deploying soon. Any advice? Looking forward to the forum. I bought the dadlabs book. Very interesting (and funny) stuff.

I was in the military as well me and my wife just decided to have our kid now which he is due to pop out on us June 14. I'm out the Marines now but when I was in I did a lot of pumps out of garrison. Its hard but the way I look at is that now your wife will have something new and exciting to do when she's home waiting for you to come back. hahaha. Honestly its something to think about long and hard because the fact remains that you will be gone a lot of the time. I don't know what your MOS is but mine was Infantry so I was gone a lot. Talk to your wife and really think about it bro. I think its great and a good idea but that's my opinion I don't know what your situation is like but all in all good luck with everything and be safe when you Deploy.

I'm in the same boat Bubba. Both my wife and I are Marines and this is out first. Congrats on your family addition!

Dadchelor Parties

Daddy Clay talks to Beth Feldman, Founder and President of RoleMommy.com about a few "dad trends." Dads are becoming more involved with everything from the very beginning, including doctors appointments and even baby showers. A Dadchelor party is a get together for new Dads that is essentially, diapers for beer. Guest bring diapers and beer is served while you watch movies or maybe the game. At a Dadchelor party, baby kegger, ok, strippers, not ok. (Trust us on this one.) Another great idea for new Dads is to take the Mom-to-be on a "Babymoon" where she gets pampered and can relax. Well, relax as much as one can when building a human. Episode 868
