Hi, Expctant Dad-to-Be!

Hi,
In a few weeks, my wife is going to give birth to a baby boy. My story is a little unusual because I am going to be a dad for the first time at age 45. I work in a high-divorce career field, law enforcement, and was divorced in 2009. I was committed to bachelordom when I met my child's mother, rethought my whole life up until now, got engaged in 2010 and learned right around Christmas there was a bun in the oven. This after 10 years of marriage to my previous wife and we never conceived.

I am the oldest guy still working the road at my dept, and pretty soon I will be putting a baby in diapers after working all day putting adults in time outs. I am somewhat glad this is happening near the end of my police career instead of at the beginning.

Thanks for those of you that post, I gain knowledge from them at times and sometimes a laugh.

Welcome Baddog72. We're about the same age, so I know that guys like us still have enough miles left to take on challenges like a new baby. You'll do a great job. There also are some big advantages to being a little older -- stable career situation you mentioned being a big one.
