Hello to all the dads and expecting dads!

New to DadLabs here, expecting our first child (daughter) in two weeks. I got past the fear and nervousness only a few weeks ago and now anxiously awaiting the inevitable at this point. We are quite excited for the big day.

I am a fan of the site, and looking forward to learning from all of the "real-world" experience assembled here.

Thanks
LivsDad

Hey LivsDad,

Welcome. Congrats on the impending arrival. Seems like you have all the symptoms -- which is a good thing.

I'm kinda jealous, kinda not at this point in my parenting career, but there are lots of guys here in just your same spot. Feel free to express opinions and ask questions. Don't be a lurker.

We will see you around the site.

Cheers,
Clay

Well, our little one came a week early, and is now 1 week old. We had an amazing experience at a local midwifery clinic, and both mom and daughter are doing great. The lactation consultant assigned to us by the birth center was a life saver, as we had some nursing issues the first few days, but all is worked out, and Mom is feeling like a dairy cow!

Here we go... Already learning a lot from videos on the site, as well as forum threads. Thanks for being a great source for us new pops!

Midwives are great. I can't remember how many times I've found myself thanful to be in their care.

Dadchelor Parties

Daddy Clay talks to Beth Feldman, Founder and President of RoleMommy.com about a few "dad trends." Dads are becoming more involved with everything from the very beginning, including doctors appointments and even baby showers. A Dadchelor party is a get together for new Dads that is essentially, diapers for beer. Guest bring diapers and beer is served while you watch movies or maybe the game. At a Dadchelor party, baby kegger, ok, strippers, not ok. (Trust us on this one.) Another great idea for new Dads is to take the Mom-to-be on a "Babymoon" where she gets pampered and can relax. Well, relax as much as one can when building a human. Episode 868
