Hello Austin Fathers!
Responsible Relationships- Healthy Marriages is intended to provide free services where couples and individuals can enhance their interpersonal skills with their partners. We provide free childcare services and a safe, welcoming, dynamic learning environment for individuals and couples. In order to accomodate busy, working families several workshops are offered throughout the year at various times. Classes are offered in English and Spanish and are presented in a format that is relevant, challenging and fun. This effort is sponsored by the Office of Family Assistance, Washington D.C. and Texas Health and Human Services Commission.

Sounds like a valuable service. Are you here in Austin? Is this part of a wider organization? Seems like interesting material to explore further. You can contact us at info@dadlabs.com

Is this counseling/training focused on couple relationships, or does it address parenting as well?

My latest advice to parents has been to "do the research" and that is quickly coming to include hiring a parenting coach or counselor or to join a discussion group. Too often as parents we just do what comes naturally, which may not always be the best advice.

Dadchelor Parties

Daddy Clay talks to Beth Feldman, Founder and President of RoleMommy.com about a few "dad trends." Dads are becoming more involved with everything from the very beginning, including doctors appointments and even baby showers. A Dadchelor party is a get together for new Dads that is essentially, diapers for beer. Guest bring diapers and beer is served while you watch movies or maybe the game. At a Dadchelor party, baby kegger, ok, strippers, not ok. (Trust us on this one.) Another great idea for new Dads is to take the Mom-to-be on a "Babymoon" where she gets pampered and can relax. Well, relax as much as one can when building a human. Episode 868
