TOPIC: Greetings from Germany

Greetings from Germany
2 Years, 6 Months ago
Hello there,

I am a British at home Dad living in Bavaria, Germany. I have two kids, a son aged aged 3.5 and a daughter aged 6.

I've just joined this site. I'm only starting to network on the web and have already one great German at home Dad mate through another site. I want to know if there are others in perhaps France, Spain or Italy.

Much of my focus of looking after my kids has been their nutrition. I learned to cook and also grew loads of my own food. I'm a big fan of Jamie Oliver from the UK.

It will be interesting to compare our experiences left and right of The Pond. Although British I've lived around lots of Americans in Saudi Arabia and also on a US base in Germany. I receive a cutout of the NY Times every week so I'm abreast of US trends.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Welcome! Glad to have a expat-Brit living in Bavaria on the site. We've been wanting to fill that niche for some time.

Please feel free to start some nutrition related discussions, and we will be sure to jump in with our numerous opinions.

If you happen to be in a German bookstore, take a look around for the German translation of our book. The German title is "Windelalarm" and I'll send you a free t-shirt if you can get a photo of the book on a shelf in a German bookshop!

Cheers!

Dadchelor Parties

Daddy Clay talks to Beth Feldman, Founder and President of RoleMommy.com about a few "dad trends." Dads are becoming more involved with everything from the very beginning, including doctors appointments and even baby showers. A Dadchelor party is a get together for new Dads that is essentially, diapers for beer. Guest bring diapers and beer is served while you watch movies or maybe the game. At a Dadchelor party, baby kegger, ok, strippers, not ok. (Trust us on this one.) Another great idea for new Dads is to take the Mom-to-be on a "Babymoon" where she gets pampered and can relax. Well, relax as much as one can when building a human. Episode 868
