Blowing in...
10 Months, 3 Weeks ago
Greetings and salutations, fellow dads and fathers!

I'm Geordon (read some about me in my profile), and I have three youngsters. The older two are my wife's by her first husband, and our youngest one is ours together. The oldest just turned 18, and she's been using my last name for at least 5 years, much to my satisfaction. That was her choice, not something that either my wife or I had any participation in.

I'm currently in IT, but finishing an AA degree in Psychology and planning on a BA degree in Emergency and Disaster Management (EDM). I hope to jump fields in the next 3-5 years, into EDM. I am also a preparedness junkie.

I am a fan of "doomer" literature, post-apocalyptic, and zombie fiction. I also enjoy the disaster movies that play on SyFy frequently.

I have recently started a website with emergency and disaster preparedness information for real people and people with families. That can be found at hurricanedad411.com

So, that's a little about me. HAppy to be here!

Welcome, hurricanedad411. You and daddy Brad will have a lot to talk about.

I'm currently reading "Robopocalypse" which I think you like. I also liked "Sleepless."

Anyway, enjoy the site. We will check yours out. Please let your opinions be known!

Cheers,
Clay

Welcome aboard. I for one am glad that there's a father of teenagers on this site. My son is seven months old so we are going through a whole different set of issues right now. But no doubt in time I'll need some parenting tips re: teenagers.

Cheers

Roger

Dadchelor Parties

Daddy Clay talks to Beth Feldman, Founder and President of RoleMommy.com about a few "dad trends." Dads are becoming more involved with everything from the very beginning, including doctors appointments and even baby showers. A Dadchelor party is a get together for new Dads that is essentially, diapers for beer. Guest bring diapers and beer is served while you watch movies or maybe the game. At a Dadchelor party, baby kegger, ok, strippers, not ok. (Trust us on this one.) Another great idea for new Dads is to take the Mom-to-be on a "Babymoon" where she gets pampered and can relax. Well, relax as much as one can when building a human. Episode 868
