TOPIC: Top 5 Christmas toys?

Top 5 Christmas toys?
3 Years, 5 Months ago
It seems to me that AFTER Christmas is the best time to review toys since you have had a chance to play with them. So dads, what were the top five toys your kids got for Christmas? My guess is that this could be our reference for all the birthday party gifts we will buy for the rest of the year.

1. Wii, no explanation needed. Dad likes World of Goo and likes to think that it is teaching the boy some physics (with a little bit of commentary from dad).

2. Mattel Saucer Scramble Game. Every kid who comes over for a playdate begs to play this game. The saucers fly up and then erratically float to the ground. Color co-ordinated catchers keep the kids from arguing about whose turn it is.

3. Mellisa and Doug Bake and Decorate Cupcake set.
With cupcake stands popping up everywhere, and with two near our house, my four year old loves this. The "icing" is really a dry erase marker. I get served cupcakes often.

4.A lot of ant hills are 2D, but this one is built on a semi circular base with an actual hill and a planar viewing screen on the back where you can watch the ants tunnel. I usually like the stuff from insect lore. 5. The Klutz book of Balloon Twisting. Balloon twisting is really not that hard. My kids were making hats all night long. Only catch is that dad had to tie them all.

6. Icoaster. While we technically got this before Christmas, its still a big hit. Check out my my blog about it.

Our iCoaster is still in the box. It's looking like bad weather this weekend. Might be about time. We've burned through most of the kits of one kind or another already.

Wii Sport Resort has been a huge hit. My family gave me a fish tank, which has developed into an ideal dad/kids activity. My daughter has worn her Uggs every single day since X-mas and they seem to be holding up well. The synthesizer drum set for oldest has been used daily. The weather has been pretty bad so outdoor toys are still on ice. More soon.
