TOPIC: Digital Photo Frame Alternative

Digital Photo Frame Alternative
I have a relative who doesn't have an internet connection, but loves baby photos. I started browsing digital photo frames and it seems that they're all either very low-res (800x600 or so) or they seem overpriced. Then I remembered that my TV has a USB port, so I checked online and, sure enough, for about the same price you would spend for what's considered a high-res photo frame, you can get an LCD TV with a USB port.

So, for a little bit more than a 15" 1,024x768 photo frame, you can get a Phillips 22" 1,366 x 768 LCD TV and a cheap thumb drive. Oh, and it also plays TV shows.

Nice!
There is only possible drawbacks that come to mind. (Some people are picky)

1.Hanging the tv with the rest of the pictures on the wall.
2. Having to turn on the tv to look at the pictures.

Any thoughts to making a Photo CD or Photo DVD until a cheaper and/or better quality photo frame comes your way?

Maybe a good 'dad project' would be taking the guts of one of these TVs and fitting it into a nice wooden picture frame. You could run a small USB patch cable to a discreet location to conceal the thumb drive while still giving you easy access for updates. Bonus points for installing a junction box in the wall right behind it for power.

Dadchelor Parties

Daddy Clay talks to Beth Feldman, Founder and President of RoleMommy.com about a few "dad trends." Dads are becoming more involved with everything from the very beginning, including doctors appointments and even baby showers. A Dadchelor party is a get together for new Dads that is essentially, diapers for beer. Guest bring diapers and beer is served while you watch movies or maybe the game. At a Dadchelor party, baby kegger, ok, strippers, not ok. (Trust us on this one.) Another great idea for new Dads is to take the Mom-to-be on a "Babymoon" where she gets pampered and can relax. Well, relax as much as one can when building a human. Episode 868
