Kids like documentaries - if you have not exposed them to docs, they might resist at first.

What I really like about docs is that you can get quality content that you like as an adult which your kids will like and learn from.

IMAX movies are short and super interesting. My kids really enjoyed one about beavers and dams. It was only about 30 minutes long, a great alternative to a commercial laden show.

Recently we watched Natural History of the Chicken and the kids really dug it. It was a chance for us to talk about food and where it comes from without getting into a more hard lined food movie that may be too heavy handed for them.
