TOPIC: reusable diapers?

reusable diapers?
1 Year, 3 Months ago
On one of the survior dad podcasts Dad Nathan discussed the fuzzi bunz reusable diaper. My wife and I were happy to see that we use the same reusable diapers. I liked his math but what he did not mention was the repeat effect of these diapers. You can use them with your next kids and it is even cheaper.
We have friends that tried to use other reusable diapers and liked them but we did not like the velcro as it would get clogged up and we would have to clean the fuzzies out of the velcro.
Is anyone else using reusable diapers and what are your thoughts?

We've been using the BumGenius 4.0's right now with the velcro and absolutely love them. When it comes to cloth diapers it's all about what you are comfortable with.

We chose the ones we use because many of our friends use them and this way to the baby sitter they look like disposable diapers but we just tell her were to dump the dirty cloth diapers and it is all good.

I posted in my blog a review of the diapers we chose and just a general review of cloth diapering and how we do things.

We have a large variety of diapers and covers in our house that our boys have gone through.
Mostly, we've used Chinese Prefold cloth diapers with Imse Vimse covers. Those covers have the velcro tabs which are now staring to show some serious wear.

We have a set of large BabyKicks, which are good and have snaps instead of the velcro, but I liked the FuzzyBunz covers that we bought and tried a lot too.
My wife preferred the BKs a bit more so we went with them.

Dadchelor Parties

Daddy Clay talks to Beth Feldman, Founder and President of RoleMommy.com about a few "dad trends." Dads are becoming more involved with everything from the very beginning, including doctors appointments and even baby showers. A Dadchelor party is a get together for new Dads that is essentially, diapers for beer. Guest bring diapers and beer is served while you watch movies or maybe the game. At a Dadchelor party, baby kegger, ok, strippers, not ok. (Trust us on this one.) Another great idea for new Dads is to take the Mom-to-be on a "Babymoon" where she gets pampered and can relax. Well, relax as much as one can when building a human. Episode 868
