Stargaze with your kids & connect with the world!

Tomorrow, October 29th, marks the beginning of the Great World Wide Star Count. This is a great opportunity for you and your kids to get outside, learn about the night sky, and contribute to an international science project. All you need to do is go outside at about 7-9 PM, look up, count the stars in a certain constellation, and report what you see online. It's a simple and fun way to get your kids interested in astronomy! My kids really dig this type of stuff. We have been using Star Walk on the iphone www.dadlabs.com/Gear-Daddy/ipod-touch-fa...le-media-player.html Also, we went to the Fernbank Science Center in Atlanta, the older one, that has a planetarium and a kids show.

Fernbank is great. However, we have new science center in Cartersville, GA (about an hour outside of the cite). It is called the Tellus Science Museum (http://www.weinmanmuseum.org/). Well worth the the drive.
