Following on from my post “and the little one said roll over...ouch”
Today my son asked if I could pick him up. I had bags in one hand and was carrying my other son in a carry chair in the other (and the nurse told me to rest, IDTS). If you read my previous post, you will know that I am also nursing two badly bruised ribs.
Not really liking to let my son down but not really having a choice, I had to tell him I couldn’t manage because I had an ouch.
And the reply?
“Where daddy? Where is your ouch?” I put the bag down, lifted up my top and showed him my two top ribs. “There, that’s where it hurts”.
And his reaction?
He then kissed his hand, lifted up my top and reached as far as he could to the spot where my ouch was and then said;”There you go daddy, it not hurt anymore.”
I put my bag down and then set the carry chair down, gently bent down to Joshua, gave him a cuddle and said thank you.
He then whispered in my ear “you not have an ouch anymore daddy, pick me up daddy, pick me up daddy, pleeeeese.”
All this happened whilst in the queue to get into nursery. In front of the other parents!
