TOPIC: Is nothing sacred?

Is nothing sacred?
1 Year, 11 Months ago
Women are out of the kitchen and working. And until last year, my wife was making thousands more than I. They're voting, they hold powerful political positions, and they've even become ministers. Ladies are driving big manly SUVs and sometimes even pick-up trucks. They drink beer! Some have even traded in fluffy kitties for real dogs (those rats in purses don't count as canines). They are wearing jeans, t-shirts and sneakers. We let them objectify men, because we dig that sort of thing, all the while risking the 'stink-eye' or worse with even the slightest glance of appreciation of their soft and lovely gender specific features.

I'm actually ok with all of that. Simply, because I don't have to give birth. That's all you ladies. (Hell, some of you do that without even allowing us the fun part!)

But I must draw the line. And how I draw this line, in the snow, after a few beers, is OURS. This belongs to MEN. We must fight. Stand up! And demand that they sit down!

Read this blog post, and tell me this isn't WRONG! <--Click
(Funny. BUT WRONG!)

I'll share just about anything, but if you want your name in the snow, you'd best ask ME, or get yourself a sports bottle... because this ain't cool. The world is MY urinal. It's a right of the penis. You can't have it.

Dudes. Nothing is sacred. We're on our own now.

In the black is white world we live in, I guess the She-nis was just a matter of time.

As a result, I only demand that we get couches in all of *our* bathrooms.

Hope she remembers to lift the seat.

Lol @ that article.

I may only speak for myself here but as a woman I say no, down with the she-nis!

While I'm all for equality in some areas, I recognise that I don't want to share everything. I won't mow the yard or dig the big holes when gardening. In return I know I'll never see him scrub the toilet or dusting the bookshelves. Just like while he doesn't have to sit down on disgusting public toilets, I get access to boobs 24/7 and he has to ask permission.

While biologically women may have a rougher trot anatomically, the female form is certainly more to look at than a man's outer construction (from a purely artistic perspective). Being able to pee anywhere is one of the few major arguments guys always bring up when they say it's better being a man and I for one am happy to let you have that little win. Well, not little, I mean I wouldn't know but, I'm sure it's great...anyway.

I have no problem with women using the she-nis... I don't want to even stand at some public toilets. I get that. The airplane loo, yep, totally understand. The countries with 'squat holes,' gotcha. I'm with ya.

But this chick is reveling in the standing in and of itself. THAT is what makes it wrong. She's not just happy she doesn't have to sit on or hover over a disgusting seat. It is only to be celebrated by those of the species with endocrine orbs. We'll let ya pee off the side of the boat, but don't you dare smile while you're doin' it!

Thanks for understanding Jinks.

Year of the Dad

Episode 845 - Year of the Dad. What's trending in 2012? Dads! Laurie Gelman, co-host of The Mom Show talks about the shifting roles of primary care givers from Mom to Dad. There's also the scarier trend of reality TV/YouTube/internet fame influencing parenting. Parents need to be more aware of what children are watching. The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends no more than 2.5 hours of "screen time" which includes ALL screens, not just TV. One way to battle technology and hours and hours of texting, bad youtube videos, and generally bad programming is family dinner. Unplug and spend genuine quality time with your family.

eProofing Your Wireless Network

Daddy Clay points out the importance of setting up a secure wireless network. It's easy to with the software that comes with your router, and can be done via the "Network and Sharing Center" control panel on PCs, or the Airport Utility on Macs. Giving the access code out also can allow access to your personal files on devices on that network. Some routers like the Linksys e4200 offer Dual Zone, Guest Zone, or SSID features which allow you to set up access to the internet, but NOT your other devices on the network. Shutting down the network is a great way to limit family access and controlling time limits for your children, particularly during certain times like study time, family dinner, or even overnight.
