TOPIC: Don't Call CPS!

Don't Call CPS!
1 Year, 10 Months ago
We did a bit of filming last evening at the Round Rock Express game. It was a beat down 15 to 1 in favor of the bad guys. It takes a long time to score 15 runs so the game didn't end until 11 pm. My older kids wanted to hang out until after the game because it was kids run the bases night but the little was done after about the 6th inning. We stayed till the bitter end and got home close to midnight. Sleepy kids but they had a ball getting on the field and the little dude can catch up on zzzzz's tonight. What does it take for you to keep your kids out way past there bedtime?

In the summer time, we'll also hang way later than we ought to with a 6 year old and a toddler just for the Friday or Saturday night fireworks after a minor league ball game.

There will probably also be a night or two of stargazing this summer where he'll get to stay up too late so most of the neighborhood ambient light goes way down.

I'm with you on the summer time late bed time, my kids have oooouched it out an hour plus. But this year we are going to try the gradual clamp down starting in early August. 15 minutes earlier each week starting August 1 should have them back to the 8 pm bed time by the start of school. Anyone want to wager on the success?

Yeah, we'll try a similar strategy, but can already tell there's going to be holes in the system, just looking at the family calendar of activities. As long as we lock him in to 8pm bed times that last week before school, our boy should be fine, and I'll consider us successful.

Dadchelor Parties

Daddy Clay talks to Beth Feldman, Founder and President of RoleMommy.com about a few "dad trends." Dads are becoming more involved with everything from the very beginning, including doctors appointments and even baby showers. A Dadchelor party is a get together for new Dads that is essentially, diapers for beer. Guest bring diapers and beer is served while you watch movies or maybe the game. At a Dadchelor party, baby kegger, ok, strippers, not ok. (Trust us on this one.) Another great idea for new Dads is to take the Mom-to-be on a "Babymoon" where she gets pampered and can relax. Well, relax as much as one can when building a human. Episode 868
