Best Beach Footwear for Kids?

My oldest really got into skim-boarding this summer, so he's running up and down the beach all the time. But he slices his feet on shells in the process. In my experience, most bean footwear for kids sucks. Flip flops are useless, Tivas become like flippers, too much water resistance, water shoes' are cheap and really uncomfortable. What is the best solution for preserving the kids' feet at the shore?

try those kids croc sandals...there are so many cheap versions these days.

Crocs are great for younger kids, but for the older ones that are running, both in and out of the water, they're just too clunky and tend to come off. I love Crocs -- just wore out a pair of the flip-flops myself -- but they can't handle heavy-duty aquatic adventure.

dive boots like these i feel work the best they run about 30-40 bucks but there worth it if your looking for somthing moore practical try REEF brand sandals there strong and comfy

howdy, new guy here, how about something like the vans slip ons. the real vans are a little pricier, but we've gotten the canvas converse ones from target for our little girl and they're great, and if they get wet, they dry out pretty quick. hell get two pairs, one wet, one dry.

Amazing suggestions. One of these will be in the beach bag or next summer. It's actually easier to buy shoes for Bubba now that he is an adult size 8.5 -- but this shit is EXPENSIVE. Just plunked down a Benjamin for a pair of soccer PRACTICE shoes, and I still have to get the cleats.
