Back on Father's Day I won a membership to Ancestry.com on the Live Show. Daddy Clay asked me to give the details of my experience here in the forum, so here we go...

Nothing! The kind folks at DadLabs have worked hard at getting Ancestry.com to fulfill on their offer, but they never came though and I don't think they ever will.

Thanks to the folks at DadLabs for being great folks and putting effort into this! You guys owe me nothing on this. Your sponsor screwed you on this one.

May Ancestry.com suffer the fleas of a thousand camels.

As my ancestors would have said: "That sucks a$$."

We will look into this.

No need to worry about it... You tried, they lied, and the only one harmed is them and their reputation.

I joined that site only to find out they have basically no records of pre-confederation NL or NL based US military base records. It was a waste of money and time. I cancelled my service and had to fight with them to get a refund.

The LDS church has mountains of genealogy records. All free.

I have traced my heritage to pre-revolution VA.

I sent a polite, but straight forward email to Ancestry.com about the situation. To my surprise, they had me set up in less than 24 hours!

My parents uploaded their family tree info and now I am looking at a ton of information. One interesting did come up about my grandfather. His enlistment paperwork shows that he was assigned to the Philippine Dept in Nov 1941. During basic training, he volunteered for pilot training, but failed the vision test. If he stayed in the Philippine dept, I wonder if he may have been subjected the Bataan Death March in 1942 that killed 75,000 US and Filippino soldiers.

Dadchelor Parties

Daddy Clay talks to Beth Feldman, Founder and President of RoleMommy.com about a few "dad trends." Dads are becoming more involved with everything from the very beginning, including doctors appointments and even baby showers. A Dadchelor party is a get together for new Dads that is essentially, diapers for beer. Guest bring diapers and beer is served while you watch movies or maybe the game. At a Dadchelor party, baby kegger, ok, strippers, not ok. (Trust us on this one.) Another great idea for new Dads is to take the Mom-to-be on a "Babymoon" where she gets pampered and can relax. Well, relax as much as one can when building a human. Episode 868
