I've heard the electronic tests are more accurate but pricey, upwards of $150. They come with multiple test strips but the electronic reader is the key. I prefer the old fashioned way and just throw multiple attempts at the situation every day. Good luck and have fun.

My wife bought some cheap ovulation predictor kits, but we ended up tracking her temps daily instead. It was a bit of a hassle having to do it at the exact time every day, but I think she read somewhere that it had about the same effectiveness as the tests, and it was much cheaper in the long run (only had to buy a basal thermometer).

There are ovulation tests. They look and work a lot like pregnancy tests. It's basically a pee on a disposable stick situation. I don't have accuracy stats right at hand, but they are relatively easy to get -- we picked some up for a video shoot at the nearby Walmart.

I'm not sure if I've seen anything reusable -- other than a thermometer.

Good luck!

So would any thermometer do?
I thought about using the pop-op thermometer that are used in Butterball Turkeys but I can't afford to take time off due to wife induced injuries due to smart assness. But seriously. Any thermometer will do?

My wife eventually bought two or three thermometers. One broke and another took too long to give a temp. She had it by her bed and popped it in her mouth as soon as her alarm clock went off each morning. She combined it with some software to do the math. It takes a while to get a rhythm drawn, but once you have the data it seems pretty reliable. It worked twice for us. I think the big advantage is that she, especially being an engineer, was able to look at data and freak out a lot less. She also knew she was pregnant after about a week instead of having to wait for the clues or a test.

I used them both times & have 2 children to prove how well they work. Both times it only took 2 months of tries & we were pregnant. I think they are helpful to at least have a clue of when the best time to try is.
