During a recent physical, I received a Tetanus booster shot. I was then made aware, as an expecting father, that I should have gotten the DTaP instead as it also includes immumnization for Pertussis and Diptheria.

Is there any health risk is I get a DTaP shot this soon after my Tetanus shot (3 weeks)??? I would like the security in kowing I'm properly immunized for Pertussis (Whooping Cough) before my new baby arrives....in a week.

I'll take a sore arm over getting my newborn sick any day.

You'll have to ask your doctor. I wouldn't think there would be a problem since if you can't remember when you last tetnus was, they'll give it to you. But you need to ask a pro.
