TOPIC: Goodbye Sweet Crib

Goodbye Sweet Crib
3 Years, 11 Months ago
My daughter transitioned to a big girl bed this weekend, she is 2. With her new found freedom she is up and down about a million times a night before finally falling asleep. What is the optimal age to leave the crib behind?

I never heard a rule of thumb, but the only thing the moms on both sides tell me is that as soon as they're able to crawl out or even get to that point, drop to the toddler bed. Makes sense to me. Did you have a convertible or get a new bed?

Bri-

Miss Ella was at the crawl out stage, so it was definitely time.

Went for the entire new bed, cheap mattress though because potty training is next.

We let our daughter out about the same time, 2 years old. We put rails on the side of the bed that made it harder for her to get out of the bed. Also we started having a rule that she could only come out of the bed for 3 to 5 requests, including tucking in and water. We cut it down and now she only comes in once for tucking in. These requests don't include bathroom trips, of course.

Dadchelor Parties

Daddy Clay talks to Beth Feldman, Founder and President of RoleMommy.com about a few "dad trends." Dads are becoming more involved with everything from the very beginning, including doctors appointments and even baby showers. A Dadchelor party is a get together for new Dads that is essentially, diapers for beer. Guest bring diapers and beer is served while you watch movies or maybe the game. At a Dadchelor party, baby kegger, ok, strippers, not ok. (Trust us on this one.) Another great idea for new Dads is to take the Mom-to-be on a "Babymoon" where she gets pampered and can relax. Well, relax as much as one can when building a human. Episode 868
