Ok, I can deal with the Mommy phase, the Daddy phases, the throw a fit phase, the mine, mine, mine phase, the biting phase, but the Constant Whining Phase is gonna do me in.

Hey if it sounds like I'm whining about my kids whining I AM. Any Thoughts.

I'm there with you!
We have just recently started the terrible two's.
My son has moved from biting to hitting. Hmm-is that a step up or down?

Everyone keeps telling me that I have several more years of this constant bi-polar state. Which is then processed with the When are you having the 2nd child?. Ummm-when I recover from the first (in about 20 years).

We're also getting lots more hugs & kisses now, so it's a very confusing time for us as well!

It sounds like you're whining about coworkers and the DadLabs offices to me.

Coop (now 4) is depending heavily on whining at the moment to get some attention deflected from his older sibs to him. Works pretty well because it drives us so nuts. We are running a pretty vigorous counter-insurgency, but no real progress yet. So don't fool yourself that you'll get through it any time soon.

They stay angelic forever!

Actually, my husband & I were just thinking back to my son's 9 month checkup when his doctor told us that at the next visit we would discuss 'discipline'. We both looked at her in shock & said What?!. Not OUR angel.

I spent half the weekend saying No Tyler, don't hit!!! & Do you want a Time-Out?!.

Yeah, same experience here!

But the strangest thing happened this weekend....

Our daughter VOLUNTEERED to go into a timeout!?!? She looked at my wife and said Timeout? Then she walked over to the stairs and sat down for a while.

We still can't figure this out. Pretend play? Is our daughter using reverse psychology on us already?

Yeah, I realizes how sad it was when the same thing happened to us. I would just look at Tyler sideways & he would walk into the timeout corner. LOL. Ummm...is this a sign that we're doing too many timeouts?
Of course now, I point to the corner & he just hangs his head down and goes to it. Of course, being only 22 months old, his ability to sit still lasts about 10 seconds.

Dadchelor Parties

Daddy Clay talks to Beth Feldman, Founder and President of RoleMommy.com about a few "dad trends." Dads are becoming more involved with everything from the very beginning, including doctors appointments and even baby showers. A Dadchelor party is a get together for new Dads that is essentially, diapers for beer. Guest bring diapers and beer is served while you watch movies or maybe the game. At a Dadchelor party, baby kegger, ok, strippers, not ok. (Trust us on this one.) Another great idea for new Dads is to take the Mom-to-be on a "Babymoon" where she gets pampered and can relax. Well, relax as much as one can when building a human. Episode 868
