TOPIC: The family is more responsible for buying baby sho

The family is more responsible for buying baby sho
5 Months, 3 Weeks ago
Hello everyone,

I heard today that it is typically the responsibility of the baby Mother's side to buy the major baby shower gifts That is bed, stroller, bassinet, car seat, etc. and it less of a responsibility for fathers family side to buy those sorts of major gifts. What do you think about this?

Can anyone have an idea about the baby shower gift then help me?

Thanks a lot

I'm not sure what the question is. I don't know of any protocol issues with baby shower gifts. If the prospective parents haven't registered anywhere they should expect a bunch of toasters. Well, maybe bottle and wipe warmers.

It really is best to go with a registered item if you don't have "just the most perfect gift imaginable" in mind.

I feel the only "traditional" responsibility for the mom-to-be's mother was to actually HOST the event. But even that is generally handled by a best friend (in my experience).

But a baby shower is a girl thing. Girls are gonna do what girls gonna do. Dad's MIGHT have a separate Dad Party (we wouldn't attend if you call it anything else), but not likely. All the guys are just gonna go out or watch football while the ladies are doin' their thing. As dudes do.

Dad involvement with this event is also dependent on whether it's a first born or not... is it even proper to have a BS for subsequent children?

Dadchelor Parties

Daddy Clay talks to Beth Feldman, Founder and President of RoleMommy.com about a few "dad trends." Dads are becoming more involved with everything from the very beginning, including doctors appointments and even baby showers. A Dadchelor party is a get together for new Dads that is essentially, diapers for beer. Guest bring diapers and beer is served while you watch movies or maybe the game. At a Dadchelor party, baby kegger, ok, strippers, not ok. (Trust us on this one.) Another great idea for new Dads is to take the Mom-to-be on a "Babymoon" where she gets pampered and can relax. Well, relax as much as one can when building a human. Episode 868
