As our due date has entered the 'any day now' phase, the obvious occurred to me that when it's go time, we'll be hours away from never being alone as a couple again.

Now, being a planned pregnancy, this was expected but for some reason it hit me big time, this morning.

I've decided to do something special for my wife and take her on one last date where we can focus on just me and her as a couple and do some of the things we love to do, that we may not be able to do for a while or maybe even ever.

You seem to be in tune with what a special time, and a significant transition, the next few days/weeks will be. I think one last "just us date" is a great idea.

A few days before our son was born, in the same spirit of things, we went to see movie (the latest Harry Potter film, at the time). I still have the ticket stubs.

J/K I'm fairly sentimental with those things too, and in my head, I save them for the as of now, 3 page scrap book of TheBoy's life... (he's 4, I've done 3 pages)...

Excellent idea Calomalo! I plan to do the same thing with our current family of 3 whenever theNextOne comes along. As well as give TheBoy plenty of JustDad&Me time.
