Yeah, same here.

1. Bring your own magazines, the ones in the office are all parenting, Highlights® & about womanly things..<br>2. Don't stare at the other women in the waiting room, being pregnant they are a bit hormonal & many of them are grumpy...<br>3. The Doctor knows his/her job, don't try to help...<br>4. If you use the bathroom, the little cups are not for you & be sure to put the seat back down (see #2= hormonal & grumpy)<br>5. Don't picture blog the visit (or live stream).

Put the seat down. LOL. Stealing that.

A good idea: ask at least one question. Not about sex.

Go to EVERY appointment if at all possible. Be there to help calm HER fears, as well as your own. Don't be afraid or embarrassed to ask questions. 'Tis her body, but your baby too.<br><br>Our first experience was no prob for me, but she was a lil' embarrassed to get the exam with me in the room... I can imagine... Guys, the only comparison I can imagine is a prostate exam with your wife in the room staring at you. Yea, I'm sure that was odd for her. But the visits got easier (not a physical exam every time) and it became more and more about the baby.<br><br>Hold doors for her, hold her coat and purse while she goes to pee in the cup. Let her hold your hand as they draw blood, etc. etc. (Though I actually wouldn't even stand in the tiny room when they did that.) And PAY ATTENTION when the doc is talking.<br><br>After a couple months, you get to hear the heartbeat at each appointment... guys, THAT alone is worth the time. Seriously. And when lil' skull baby looks at you and waves during the ultrasound(happened to us, I chit you not)... while slightly creepy, still super cool.

It's possible that you will be The Invisible Man and completely ignored by the doc or staff. Try not to puff out your chest or re-assert your alpha status. Just suck it up.
