Now I don't want to be an alarmists... but I have to agree with people who are saying WTF!? to the FDA when they just said a couple of months ago that they don't know what's a safe level... yet now it's ok that a trace amount has been found... Now come on... and the first articles I saw, they wouldn't identify the company brand? Are you fkn kidding me? I do believe the FDA needs an overhaul and that some people need to be fired... not because of the melamine findings, but for not doing their jobs BETTER! This isn't a high school science lab kiddies...<br><br>From what I have found, Enfamil LIPIL with Iron(powder) and Good Start Supreme Infant Formula with Iron(not stated whether powder or liquid) both found trace amounts. And ...while the FDA said tests of 18 samples of formula made by Abbott Laboratories, including its Similac brand, did not detect melamine, spokesman Colin McBean said some company tests did(my underline) find the chemical. He did not identify the specific product or the number of positive tests.<br><br>So... make your own decision. Do your own research, but I'll be sticking with the liquid formula for now. I trusted them on the BPA thing, because BPA free bottles and such are easy to come by and are clearly marked... but for those MelonFarmers* to not disclose up front what they are finding and where they are finding it... And to say, Oh it's ok, AFTER they find it, when before they said they simply don't know... how do they know now? That's just unacceptable. WTF indeed.
