TOPIC: Beach Chairs at Birthing Class

Beach Chairs at Birthing Class
1 Year, 5 Months ago
I wanted to share my "Real Men of Genius" moment a the Birthing Class.

I was not really looking forward to sitting and lying on the floor for a long period of time so I decided to take our beach chairs. The Mrs didn't want me to take hers but I took them anyway. She wanted it as soon as we got to the class. If I had taken one I would have been on the floor. It even inspired others in the class to bring their own the next day.

The class was ok I'm not sure how much of information that I learned I would be using under the stress of child birth. If it was a Dadlabs version it would have been lot more fun and informative.

Here's to you "Mr. Brings a Beach Chair to Birthing Class Guy." Your epic relaxed coolness doesn't just happen between contractions, but all the way through afterbirth. Who needs to worry about breathing, when you've got an ice cold Bud Light?

sings *Pass me that cooler, nurse!*

So here's to you, O Chill Instructor.

2 very important things to remember when that special moment comes......

1.) visually look for and request yellow lines be installed on the floor indicating the no cross zone during child birthing. when the contractions come, you will bear witness to a very beautiful and yet life threatening situation. should your wife have ability to get her hands on you while in a deep contraction, she may hurt/maim you. i was witness to the births of all 4 of my children, which is a bragging rigt as i was an over the road truck driver and if you know anything about that profession, getting home in time isn't easy.

2.) DO NOT ASK DOCTOR TO THROW IN AN EXTRA LOVE STITCH! doctors and wives find no humor in this and you will be held accountable FOREVER! i only made this mistake with first delivery and wasn't sure i'd be allowed to witness the second one.....

with that said, be there for her and support her to the fullest. remember you're both pregnant, not just her!

Dadchelor Parties

Daddy Clay talks to Beth Feldman, Founder and President of RoleMommy.com about a few "dad trends." Dads are becoming more involved with everything from the very beginning, including doctors appointments and even baby showers. A Dadchelor party is a get together for new Dads that is essentially, diapers for beer. Guest bring diapers and beer is served while you watch movies or maybe the game. At a Dadchelor party, baby kegger, ok, strippers, not ok. (Trust us on this one.) Another great idea for new Dads is to take the Mom-to-be on a "Babymoon" where she gets pampered and can relax. Well, relax as much as one can when building a human. Episode 868
