Any recommendations on sound machines to help the baby sleep? A co-worker suggested one by Brookstone but it is over $100!! I'm a public school teacher; I can't afford money like that!

If you could find mp3s of the sounds you are looking for (probably whom?) you could get a cheap mp3 player:

and small speakers (be sure to NOT LEAVE SLACK)

and just stick the mp3 player on loop.

If you turn down the treble you can avoid pops and clicks from looping too.

Just a thought.

We use the Sleep Sheep and the Gentle Giraffe from Cloud B. But in reality our 2 month old son could take it or leave it right now. Definitely cheaper than $100. Good luck.
