With all the combs and scissors and strange chairs, the first haircut can be a scary event for your kids. Make sure you take them to a good hair salon or barbershop and introduce them to your stylist. Pick a good hair style and let the captains of cosmetology work their magic. While at the hair salon make sure that you let the stylist work on your kids hair styles, and try not to interfere with the haircut process. The Science of Farts

Tips for family swimming pool

In this episode of Quality Time, Daddy Clay gives his tips for taking the kids to the swimming pool. Whether it be a neighborhood pool, or your family pool out back, follow these tips to ensure a great family summertime activity. Step one, get the right sunscreen. There are plenty of suntan lotions, sunscreens, and other sun block methods but Daddy Clay recommends the spray on suntan lotion. Finding the right pair of goggles is also an essential key to a successful trip to the pool. Make sure you get ones that fit, but also know that there is no way to prevent that difficult process of getting the goggles on and off the kids. The third and final tip is get a fun pool game to play with your kids. Daddy Clay recommends the pool side quiz show. Teach Kids About Music with Apple's Garageband

In this episode of Gear Daddy, Daddy Troy reviews Apple's Garageband software.  This innovative music software is a great way to teach your kids about music theory.  Garageband has great features such as magic garageband that allows kids to pick a music genre and arrange a song according to instrumentation.  It's a great way to teach your kids about different music instruments, and get them familiar with the song writing process.  While some music teachers may argue that this doesn't teach your kids how to play the guitar or how to play the piano.  Garageband also has great interactive music lessons that include video lessons from several celebrities such as Ben Folds, Norah Jones and John Fogerty.  These guitar lessons and piano lessons are a great way to learn to play guitar.  Download Apple's Garageband and get your kids rocking out on the computer, and teach them a guitar lesson or piano lesson.  Gear Daddy ep 531 is brought to you by BabyBjorn.

Five Things Not to Say During Labor and Delivery

In this DadLabs video Daddy Clay and Daddy Brad discuss the five phrases Dads should never say in the labor and delivery room. These five phrases should be avoided at all cost during the birth of a baby. Starting with number 5, Is that normal? Never show fear in the delivery room, and always stay calm and collected with your pregnant wife. Number 4 is avoiding anything that involves my Mom says. While experiencing childbirth the last thing your wife wants to hear is any advise or anything to do with her mother-in-law. Number 3 is to ask, why is the birth in the metric system? Do the math yourself and keep irrellevant questions out of the birthing center. The number 2 things to avoid is saying "I'm not sure I'm ready for this." It's too late to make that decision, and the most important thing is to be supportive during the child birth process. The final thing, and most important to remember is to avoid saying anything like "toughen up" and/or "suck it up". Baby Delivery whether natural birth or through a cesarean section is a very difficult process. Home Remedies for Summertime Maladies

In this episode of DadLabs Daddy Brad meets with Jennifer Crain of Mommies ER to discuss home remedies for summertime maladies. The two discuss some of the common bumps and bruises that occur with kids every summer including bee stings, spider bites, sunburns and ear infections. Watch this informational video to learn more about some of the natural home remedies you can use. If your child is stung by a bee and doesn’t have bee alergy’s consider removing the stinger with a credit card. Natural remedies such as papaya and backing soda can help ease the pain. For mosquito bites consider using tea tree oil or lavender oil to prevent itching. For swimmers ear nothing works better than a little apple cider vinger and/or rubbing alcohol to prevent nasty ear infections. Five Delivery Room Tips for Dads

Daddy Brad and Daddy Clay give five simple tips for dads in the delivery room.  Your wife is pregnant and in the birth center and you're ready for labor and delivery.  You've been following the pregnancy week by week, and you think you're prepared for childbirth.  However, there are some simple things you might forget when waiting on baby delivery.  First, you might want to consider bringing change for the snack machine.  The labor delivery could take a while and you don't to stray to far from the delivery room.  Second you should consider giving your pregnant wife a foot massage.  Third get a push present.  Push presents are gifts you give to thank your wife for the birthing process and pregnancy.  Birthstone jewelry is a great way to celebrate the new addition into your family.  Forth create an iPod playlist of your wife's favorite songs.  Lastly and most important, don't faint.  The crowning can be a dizzying experience.  Remember the lessons your learned at Lamaze classes and breathe.  Congratulations on the new baby.  The Lab ep 524 is brought to you by Baby Bjorn
