Two weeks ago at the College World Series in Omaha, Nebraska The University of South Carolina Baseball Team won it’s second National Championship. That’s right the GameCocks went back to back! Winning two championships in a row is a rare feat to say the least, it has only been accomplished three other times in the history of college baseball. In fact when any team that you REALLY care about wins a title it’s a big deal.
I grew up in South Carolina rooting for the Gamecocks and had to wait 4 decades for the GameCocks to win the big one. Actually only three teams that I care deeply about have taken home all the marbles; Texas Football in 2005 and the GameCocks Baseball 2010 and 2011.
The fact that Walker and I watched the past 2 Gamecock victories together made it even sweeter. Rooting on the LongHorns and Gamecocks has become a special father and son activity for the 2 of us and we are hungry for another title. Football season starts in 56 days!

Since I don’t know how to perform a vasectomy reversal, I guess the human race would go the way of the dinosaur. Total Extinction.
Well I’m not ready to take that risk and just give up on humanity so my boys will remain functional. Read the rest of this entry »
This past Monday evening I got together via phone with my fellow Cast of Dads buddies and the conversation was lively. We talked about a variety of topics including what to get Dad for Father’s Day, paternity leave and the PTA.
