DadLabs World Tour 2010

DadLabs is hitting the road this fall and we really hope that you will come on out and say hi, or throw old vegetables, or have a beer with us.  We certainly feel good about the number of dad friendly Summits, Conferences and Expos that seem to be popping up everywhere. And it gets us out of the house.

Here are some highlights from the fall travel schedule:

Really excited about this big get-together in the ATL. Reading the speakers list is pretty much a Who’s Who of Daddy Blogging.  The event itself represents a significant benchmark. Although it’s not a dad-specific event, fatherhood is central to the conference, and those of us that have been at this for a while finally have a home the way mommy bloggers long have.

We hope that our panel on the perils of humor will be both helpful in a practical way and funny. It’s all about balancing the blogger’s natural desire to be funny and irreverent with with the need to monetize the content. Can being funny alienate sponsors? Is being un-funny radioactive to readers? How do you reconcile the two? We’ve certainly made every mistake there is, so come learn from our experience (and see some funny videos in the process).

They’ve also got Cal Ripken Jr.

Unbadged in Austin

The SXSW festival taunts me. It’s in my own back yard, my Twitter feed is jammed with festival hashtags, email invites are flying around, and here I sit on the sidelines. Badgeless. Uncredentialed. Lanyard-deprived.
