Watch Em!

Back when I was a young boy hanging out on my granddaddy’s farm, the greatest potential danger facing me day to day was getting kicked in the head by an ornery mule or stumbling across an angry moccasin. I also walked ten miles up hill to school barefoot and toting a sack full of rocks. Let’s face it, when we were kids most of the dangers confronting us were isolated and infrequent. Getting hit by a car on busy street, having our eye put out by a bb-gun, or our head exploding because we ate a handful of Pop Rocks and took a big swig of Coca-Cola at the same time were the things that worried our parent’s most. Be My Valentine

Valentine’s Day is a bit tricky. It comes out of nowhere, sits smack dab in the middle of the paying for all the excess spending on Christmas gifts period and ruthlessly exposes my weaknesses as a thoughtful and creative mushy gift giver. This year was no different. I failed miserably on the gift side. The only thing that saved my bacon was the fact that our family returned from a week at Disney World on the 13th and my sweet wife gave me a pass. Growing Up

Combining last weeks release of the highly inappropriate lingerie line from Noah Cyrus targeting 9 year old girls and the constant commercials I hear on the radio selling the “teach your 6 month old to read” program, I am convinced that everyone wants my children to grow up too fast! This makes me angry. My wish is for children to cherish and enjoy being kids because even without the marketers’ and the medias’ help, they grow up way too fast.
On this weeks Cast Of Dads episode #8, we talk about the premature push to adulthood, along with other topics ranging from potty humor to chicken wings. Oh, and we devote a few minutes to the Super Bowl as well.
