DadLabs is hitting the road this fall and we really hope that you will come on out and say hi, or throw old vegetables, or have a beer with us.  We certainly feel good about the number of dad friendly Summits, Conferences and Expos that seem to be popping up everywhere. And it gets us out of the house.

Here are some highlights from the fall travel schedule:

Modern Media Man — September 9-11 — Atlanta, Georgia

Really excited about this big get-together in the ATL. Reading the speakers list is pretty much a Who’s Who of Daddy Blogging.  The event itself represents a significant benchmark. Although it’s not a dad-specific event, fatherhood is central to the conference, and those of us that have been at this for a while finally have a home the way mommy bloggers long have.

We hope that our panel on the perils of humor will be both helpful in a practical way and funny. It’s all about balancing the blogger’s natural desire to be funny and irreverent with with the need to monetize the content. Can being funny alienate sponsors? Is being un-funny radioactive to readers? How do you reconcile the two? We’ve certainly made every mistake there is, so come learn from our experience (and see some funny videos in the process).

So if you are in the Southeast, or have an interest in online daddyhood, I would suggest you get registered and come on out.

Type-A Mom Conference — September 24-26 — Asheville, N.C.

Sure, Dads may be the undercard at this conference, but with so many great mommy bloggers running around, can it be all bad?  Kelby at Type-A is ahead of the curve again by introducing a “Dad Track” and we are busting with pride to be part of it. we’ll be on some panels, watching plenty of others, and enjoying this beautiful town in the fall.

Mom and dad bloggers alike should get on board with this one. Get registered today.

ABC Kids Expo — October 10-13 — Vegas

It’s our fourth annual visit to the biggest baby and kids product convention in the US.  We will scour the show floor looking for the coolest new products and companies out there. We always bring back drive-fuls of digital video goodness from this event.  We’ll also cover all the latest parenting news breaking at the Hooters Casino, our home away from home.

It’s a bittersweet year for us at ABC, as the conference is slate to move away from LV and on to Louisville, Kentucky.  We love Louisville and all, but do they have a Hooters Casino there?  At least we’ll get to hang with Concretin Nik.  Right Nik?

BlogWorld — October 14-17 — Vegas

A whole week in Vegas? What could possible go wrong?  Attending the largest and most influential social media and blogging conference, is certainly worth the risk of finding a tiger in the bathroom, right?

We’re still working out the details (read: getting permission from our wives) of this conference, but we will let you know about panels etc as soon as that info becomes available.
