Dadlabs To Visit The Motherland Of Fatherhood

About nine months ago, the DadLabs crew was wandering the aisles of the ABC Baby Expo, looking for cool products to review for the site. In the process of doing our goofy, video-making thing, we struck up a conversation with Annika Sander, a representative of Baby Bjorn. When she heard about our quasi-mission of talking about fatherhood, she insisted that we had to come to Sweden, that no nation on earth was more supportive of fathers.
So we figured we needed to see this Sweden place.

We started annoying Annika. Sending emails. Pestering the good people at Baby Swede in Cleveland. Finally, they gave in and did the best they could; they invited us to the Swedish Embassy in DC. That was as close to Sweden they felt DadLabs should come.

But we refused to accept partial measures. If Sweden is the most progressive, father-forward, pater-friendly place on the globe, then DadLabs must be there. And Baby Bjorn took pity on us, because after close observation they could clearly see that we needed some help with this whole fatherhood thing.

So lo and behold, and with the generous help of Baby Bjorn, we depart this morning for Stockholm. We will see for ourselves if Sweden is indeed the motherland of fatherhood.

And we hope that you will come along. The videos from the trip won’t begin to appear until July, but for the next five days you can check back on this blog to follow our progress or you can follow me on Twitter.

Does anyone know what this aquavit is these Swedes keep talking about?
