No worries, our cruddy office still stands – no fire yet, though we’re all sure something like that is just around the corner, given our week.

Top feature on YouTube, and it only took 176 tries! If by some miracle you read this blog and aren’t on one of the email lists that I blasted this week, one of our videos – the lounge on Babysitting – was a front page feature on YouTube. Since the initial posting about 36 hours ago, we’ve had about 160K views, But in classic “careful what you wish for” fashion, we’ve gotten shelled in the comments and the ratings are a little low. So, if your personal integrity has any flex to it, then get your ass over to YouTube and give us 5 stars.

It turns out that the main page of YouTube is a tough house for programs on parenting. Wow. The level and nature of that scum spewing, er, commenting has got to make one nervous about the future. We really appreciate the feature, but…wow.

So we also signed a book deal this week. Quirk Books in Philly has signed on to issue the DadLabs masterwork on the finer points of fathering – to be co-authored by the familiar crew – Daddies Owen, Troy, Brad and Clay. The slated release is Father’s Day – 2009. Gotta love the old media lead time.

Quirk is a perfect match for us. They’re the guys that brought you the “Worst Case Scenario” books, and the “Baby Owner’s Manual.” They put out some of the most hilarious and wise-ass self-help out there. We’re really looking forward to losing all of our free time for the next few months to pull this together.
