Desert Island Kids' DVD: When You Have Only One

You're stranded on a desert island with your kids and you can only have one DVD. Which movie would it be? In this episode of The Lounge, we pose this question to our panel of expert and experienced parents. Would they take children's movies as their dvds of choice? Or would they prefer a family dvd? What film would you bring? DadLabs Ep. 358 The Lounge.

Daddy Brad: Welcome back to the lounge, we are here in the beautiful downtown Austin, Texas at Freddy’s place. We are out on the deck, we are underneath the trees we are having cold drinks, some appetizers and we’re talking about parenting I’m Daddy Brad.

Daddy Owen: I’m Daddy Owen - welcome back - good to see you.

Daddy Clay: I’m Daddy Clay, this is the show where we ask questions of experienced parents and get their opinions on parenting issues of the day, and this weeks question is?

Daddy Brad: If you were stuck on a desert island with your kids, and you only had 1 DVD and a DVD player and some way to hook it up so you could watch a DVD, what DVD would you have? You have one DVD, one DVD - which DVD would you choose?

Man 1: You know for me it would be Talladega Knights.

Daddy Brad: How about you Laura, which one do you want?

Laura: The parent trap.

Man 2: I’m going to pick a kid video, yeah because otherwise they are going to be, like daddy! Daddy entertain me - chase me.

Man 3: Midnight Express.

Daddy Clay: That’s not Midnight express - that’s Polar Express.

Man 3: What is Midnight Express?

Daddy Clay: That’s the prison one with Mike Davis, where he is like in a Turkish prison.

Man 4: If I could just have a DVD of movie trailers that would just keep us occupied for 20 minutes at least. Your whole life you could just watch movie trailers and see everything.

Daddy Clay: There is something really, really depressing about that assertion.

Jodi: Something with short segments, so that we can watch little bits and not get bored - so I would pick one of the Muppet show DVD’s.

Man 5: I would take a blank one because a blank one, because a blank one reflects better to flash at an airplane going overhead.

Daddy Owen: Oh that is such naive hope.

Man 5: Well what do I need a player for? I don’t need a player because where would I plug it in?

Daddy Clay: All right, well I think that’s it for this lounge. We’ve gotten some great ideas for movies to take with you with your children, on that desert island if you got an idea - a nominee for the one DVD to take with you on a desert island, please drop in a comment - you will automatically registered for our weekly giveaway, which this week is?

Daddy Brad: Absolutely nothing.
