Why Men Couldn't Handle Pregnancy

Daddy Owen is joined by other husbands, wives, and couples to discuss which pregnancy symptoms men are least equipped to handle. Is it nausea? Morning sickness? Or is it other symptoms of pregnancy that lead up to the labor and delivery of a baby? The answers are hilarious and insightful. Why new dads are not the new moms. DadLabs ep 477 is brought to you by BabyBjorn.

DADDY OWEN: The symptom I would least likely want to experience and least likely be able to is the episiotomy. Just the sound of it, like Velcro. I don’t like Velcro.

DADDY CLAY: Pregnancy symptoms that he couldn’t possibly hack? That he couldn’t handle.

DAD 1: Nausea would suck pretty bad, um, but I could deal with it.

DAD 2: Nausea, I love throwing up. It always makes me feel better.

DAD 1: My wife refuses to do it. She’ll hold it in. It’s like a pride thing.

DAD 2: I’ve got no problem with that. I used to throw up on command in college. It was a cool trick.

MOM 1: He could probably handle the morning sickness, throwing up, all of that just fine.

DAD 3: Labor and delivery.

DADDY OWEN: I’ve seen labor.

DAD 3: Just that last 15 hours would be the challenge for me.

DAD 4: The woman who inseminated me would have hell to pay in the delivery room.

DAD 2: The cankles. I don’t think the cankles would go well for me.

DAD 3: What is a cankle?

DADDY CLAY: It’s when your calves and your ankles swell into one.

MOM 2: Pregnancy is not really for wimps and you get a little wimpy when you’re sick.

MOM 1: So pregnancy, wow, I think God knew what he was doing.

DADDY OWEN: If she didn’t want to go through the pain of child birth then Eve shouldn’t have eaten that apple.

DAD 3: That doesn’t look like something I’d want to be doing.

MOM 2: I think that’s the whole part of pregnancy that you’d be the worst at – people all in your business.

DAD 1: Oooh, no, no, no, no.

MOM 2: They think they can touch you. They think they should be able to know everything.

DAD 3: That might be ok.

DAD 1: I didn’t like that when people did that to my wife.

MOM 2: I think that would make you more angry than anything else.

DAD 1: Even the asking, it’s like “No! Can I touch yours?”

MOM 1: Men can deal with the weight gain. They deal with the beer guy. They deal with fat bellies.

DAD 2: It’s perfect for me. I get to eat as much as I want. I get to lie around on my fatter and fatter butt all day. I get to sleep tons.

MOM 2: Are you saying my butt got fat?

DAD 2: Yes, but it’s gone back down. That’s the important thing.
