TFK Trends For Kids

At the ABC Baby & Kids Expo, Gear Daddy got the lowdown on the latest baby strollers from Trends for Kids. These strollers are great for dads, especially a tall dad like Daddy Troy. TFK shows off a few of their jogging strollers, including a double stroller perfect for parents of twins or for a pair of siblings. Their tandem stroller can hold two bassinets and Graco and Peg Perego car seats. They've even got a jogger stroller with a skateboard attached. Watch as Daddy Troy gives it a spin around the expo floor. DadLabs Ep. 564 is brought to you by BabyBjorn. Distributed by Tubemogul.

Daddy Troy: Welcome back to DadLabs. I'm Daddy Troy. Today I'm talking with Katie from TFK and I'm going to tell you about some amazing strollers they have. They have some patented features you're going to want to hear about. German engineering. They're great for tall dads, for geek dads, for running dads, stick around.

Daddy Troy: We're at the ABC Baby Show in Las Vegas and one of the things that attracted me to these strollers is first of all, I'm a tall dad. As you can tell, I'm a tall dad. And they have this feature on them where you can actually unhook these little things right here and if you're a shorter dad, that's great. But if you're a taller dad, no more crouching over as you stroll your kids along. I love that and they have some other amazing features as well. So why don't you tell us all about, I've got three different lines we're gonna talk about today and let's get started.

Katie: Okay, this is our new Joggster X. And the unique thing about this if you can change out the front wheels. Meaning you guy one chassis and you have three different front wheel options. Double wheels for shopping, a fixable wheel for your all-terrain use trail walking, walking outside.

Daddy Troy: But the wheel still swivels?

Katie: Yeah, and you can lock it too if you're going over rougher terrain. Or we have a true fixed wheel jogger wheel for big sports time.

Daddy Troy: The chassis here. The items that go in the chassis, the body is removable. Do you guys call it a body on a stroller? What do you call it?

Katie: The bassinet, the toddler seat.

Daddy Troy: So tell me what all the attachments that go on the chassis are?

Katie: This is just a fixed bassinet you know it's just in one position. Your basic bassinet.

Daddy Troy: What age kids would be in this?

Katie: You know, this is from birth until they don't want to be in a bassinet anymore.

Daddy Troy: So if my wife's taking me home, I've had a little too much to drink, she can stick me in this as well.

Katie: The cool thing about these is they're ideal for twins, or for siblings that are of different ages. As shown here, it comes with two seats like this so that your kids can grow into them. But what you can do is one bassinet like this or you can do two bassinets for newborn twins. This is pretty cool.

Daddy Troy: Now do all these have the double disc brakes? And all the adjustable, all the stuff we talked about?

Katie: Yeah, it's got the standard disc brakes. barstool footrest.

Daddy Troy: Power locks, power windows.

Katie: Got it all.

Daddy Troy: Air conditioning. Okay, great, super. Now tell me about this one.

Katie: The cool thing about this is we have Graco and Peg Perego car seat adapters so that you can attach one or two car seats. You can attach Graco and Peg Perego. You can mix and match however you want. And it never goes wider than a standard doorway.

Daddy Troy: And these strollers are for the hard core runners that are triathletes or something like that or training with their kids.

Katie: Yeah our Jogster 3 comes in 12-inch or 16-inch. 12-inch for your good strong jogger.

Daddy Troy: And so you can see down here on these particular strollers, this one has a fixed wheel right? And this one has, what do you guys call it?

Katie: It's a swivel wheel, a lockable swivel wheel, so it's all-terrain stroller.

Daddy Troy: And these have all the other features. But one of the biggest things that attracted me to this booth and you haven't seen it yet, check this out. This particular stroller has what's called a motherboard. I'm gonna call it a fatherboard today, but check this out. It's a type of skateboard on the back of the stroller. Really amazing and you can kind of skate along. They have a place where you can actually pin it up on to the stroller when you're not using it. And we're gonna head on out with this as we end this segment. But Katie I want to thank you so much. Where can our users find out more about TFK?

Katie: Go to TrendsForKids.com.

Daddy Troy: TrendsForKids.com. Thanks so much Katie.

Do they have a tandem, too? I just see a side by side here and on their site. If they do have a tandem, we'd be all over it.

Oh yeah! Def. diggin' the "father board" add on. I would be concerned about that chassis holding the kid weight and my weight (between those back wheels)... But I dig the innovation for sure.

Get the boy a helmet and we could bomb hills together! Woo hoo! smilies/wink.gif

You gotta convince them to send me one to review for ya! smilies/grin.gif (not really kidding)

Looking at the website, I'm a lil' intrigued, as it appears the skateboard truck is mounted "backwards." Now this may have been an assembly mistake with the photog, or it may be designed that way. I can't quite wrap my head around it on how it would handle. But I do realize it's not really for bombing hills or high maneuverability, but it does look fun for sure. I like how DT just HAD to take it down the hallway! smilies/cool.gif

Felt like it would be good on a straight away, but in the conference environment there was no room to turn. We are still reconnecting with the brand to see what we can do, but Nik will be the first to know if we can get a test model!
