Daddy Brad uses a stroller to take his baby to all kinds of places including restaurants and the office. In this episode of The Lab, the dads discuss where they would and wouldn't take their baby stroller. Would Daddy Brad take his stroller through Jurassic Park? How about Middle Earth, the setting of Lord of the Rings? How does he feel about taking baby strollers into a restaurant with a no stroller policy? Check out the video for answers to these questions and let us know what you think by leaving a comment on this video or visiting us at DadLabs.com. DadLabs Ep. 665 is brought to you by Scandinavian Child, distributor of the Micralite Fastfold Super-lite stroller.
Daddy Brad: Today's episode is brought to you by the Micralite Fastfold Super-Lite. Daddy Clay: That's a very timely sponsorship because Daddy Brad, you find yourself once more behind the handlebars. Daddy Brad: Yes, I've got the My man all strollered up. Daddy Clay: So, let me ask you this. I've noticed a number of times you've stroller him right into the office. Daddy Brad: Yes. Daddy Clay: Even though it's a place of business. Daddy Brad: Yep. Daddy Clay: You've strollered him right into restaurants. Daddy Brad: Yep. Daddy Clay: Even though that's a fine dining establishment. So is there anywhere that you won't stroller the child? Daddy Brad: I would not stroller my child through Jurassic Park. Daddy Clay: No. Daddy Brad: I would not stroller my child on the route of Rohan to save the world from Mordor. Daddy Clay: No, that's not what I mean. Obviously, you're not going to put him in any kind of danger. But have you ever found yourself in a stroller jam. Like a place where the stroller wouldn't work or was inappropriate or was tough going with the stroller? Daddy Brad: Hmm, let me think about that. No. Daddy Clay: So you're telling me that there's no place you would not go with your stroller? Daddy Brad: Well obviously there's some places I wouldn't go with the stroller. But I think more and more venues are accommodating stroller use. Daddy Clay: How about restaurants that have a no stroller policy? Daddy Brad: Dude, what's this, Brooklyn? Daddy Clay: No, I'm serious. What about restaurants, do you think they have the right to declare a stroller free zone? And would you patronize a place that had a no stroller policy even if you didn't have your stroller? Daddy Brad: Well I'll tell you if they won't let me bring my stroller in, I'm not eating there. I probably couldn't afford to either. Daddy Clay: You're like a childless person's worst nightmare. Daddy Brad: Hello, pot meet kettle. Dude, look at yourself. Daddy Clay: Hey if you have ever been in a stroller jam, we want to hear your story. Drop a comment on this video or go to DadLabs.com and tell your stroller jam stories. Daddy Brad: We'd also like to thank our sponsor Scandinavian Child for bringing the Micralite Fastfold Super-lite. Daddy Clay: That's all for us this week in The Lab.

Stroller access = wheelchair access written by Noel,
August 04, 2010
As an interior designer, it wasn't until I became a dad pushing a stroller that I really became aware of how hard accessibility can be in a lot of places, for strollers (personal) and wheelchairs (work). Austin, for all it's progressiveness, is really inconsistent with sidewalks, ramps, cutouts, crosswalks, etc. Near our home, we've got a giant telephone pole right in the middle of the sidewalk, so whenever we walk to the grocery store, at that one point, we have to push the stroller in the street. Not cool.
Stroller "door" jam... written by Andrea,
August 04, 2010
I used to run a home daycare and I had a 4 seat stroller (front back, side by side) it was huge but it was the only way we could get out of the house. On one occasion I actually got the stroller stuck in the door when going in to a restaurant. Really looked like I was going to fit through the doors but we got stuck. Had to get all the babies out and ask strangers for help. I often wonder how parents of multiples do it.
The most trouble I've had with strollers has definitely been on buses. Even a folded up umbrella stroller is an annoying and unwieldy handful when the bus is packed like a can of sardines. Holding a squirming kid, stroller, diaper bag, etc. while trying to not take up multiple seats or irritate fellow travelers is no trivial feat.
This past weekend I was reminded of another place that strollers are less than suited to.
The zoo.
You might think that a family-friendly place like the zoo would be ideal for strollers, but it's not. The crowds at the popular exhibits make getting to, spending any decent time at, and leaving them with a stroller rather frustrating. Indoor exhibits, such as the aquarium, are 10x worse.

How Slow Can You Stroll?
In this episode of Gear Daddy, Daddy Troy reviews another great item of baby gear. The Strollometer is a wireless computer that combines a speedometer, odometer, thermometer, and clock into one device. It attaches to your baby stroller or jogging stroller and can measure the distance you travel while walking, jogging, or running. This is one of the best baby products out there to keep your fitness and health in check while enjoying time with your baby. Time for all you dads to stroll your way into shape and lose the beer gut.
