DadLabs is taking up the mantle of stamping out fatherhood injustices. In this Lab, the dads propose that fathers should have a baby shower as well. Expecting moms get a bash, dad's should do one better since a new baby setup for a dad can get kind of expensive with all the latest baby gear. DADDY BRAD: Daddy Clay, I think that DadLabs should be all about fighting fatherhood injustice wherever we find it.

DADDY CLAY: Uh. Sure, whatever.

DADDY BRAD: And ever since my wife was pregnant with our first baby, I became aware of something that was fundamentally unfair, and it's been bugging ever since, and it's TIME TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT.

DADDY CLAY: All right. Bring it on.

DADDY BRAD: Why don't men get to have baby showers?!

DADDY CLAY: Uh. Well. Because men don't want baby showers.

DADDY BRAD: That's just because it's called a baby shower.

DADDY CLAY: I don't want a baby shower.

DADDY BRAD: It's a celebration of a major life transition. You had a bachelor party, right.

DADDY CLAY: That was no baby shower.

DADDY BRAD: It's a celebration of the upcoming child. Becoming a parent. And a great chance to rake in loot. Why should that be only be for the mother?

DADDY CLAY: I'm still not…

DADDY BRAD: With beer.

DADDY CLAY: I'm in. Bring on the Baby Kegger.

DADDY CLAY: Daddy Brad may have a point. All this cool gear that Daddy Troy tells us about can get pricey. A basic new dad setup – a cool bag from Diaper Dude, a solid baby rig for the car, a suitably rugged stroller and backpack – can end up setting you back a grand. The ladies have this one figured out. Take advantage of the social network. Now you don't really throw a party for yourself, so we're going to have to pay this one forward a little. Pick one of your boyz that's expecting, and throw him a bash.

DADDY BRAD: Consider this, Throw a benefit golf tournament for the due dad. Pull together three or four foursomes, everybody kicks in fifty over and above the greens fee and you've got enough for a cool Mutsy stroller, which can really come in handy.

DADDY CLAY: Benefit poker tournament. Buy in is forty bucks. The winner of the tournament get a gift certificate to Applebees and the pot goes to buy a carseat. Everybody wins. Except Brad cauyse I'm about to bust him out.

DADDY BRAD: Or maybe you just throw a house party. Pop for a keg. Invite all the fellas. You could do a benefit auction of all the stuff the due dad will never use again, or everybody could just kick in a twenty, and before you know it, you've got enough to start a 529 fund.

DADDY CLAY: All right, gentlemen, let's get out there and start righting this historical wrong, by drinking beer, playing poker or playing golf.
