How to Make Breakfast Cereal

The dads of DadLabs are off to Sweden so producer Don fills in for them in this week's episode of The Lab. He offers detailed instructions on how to prepare breakfast cereal for your kids. DadLabs Ep. 341 The Lab.

Daddy Don: I don’t know where they are. Is it for me? Oh okay.

Daddy Clay: Hey Don how’s it going?

Daddy Don: Hey Clay, how’s it going? Uh- huh, yeah I guess, have a nice trip.

Daddy Clay: See you later jackass.

Don: It seems like the guys just got on a plane to Sweden, and they want me to host the lab. Hi, I’m Daddy Don and I’m usually a producer, but today we’re going to talk about breakfasts. I suggest cereal – it works, its easy to make and if you play your cards right, you can get some. Cereal! You can get some cereal.

So you’ve made the leap to cereal, how do you deliver the goods? It’s easy and if you follow my 3-step method – you can do it too. Step one – get a big ass bowl, can I say ass? Ass is in the bible – is that okay to say ass? I should be able to say ass. I know what you’re saying “this bowls too big” – but its not. Not if you don’t want to have to fill it up again and again and again – get the big ass bowl. Get the small bowl if you want to give them granola or soy or something organic.

Step two – now you have the bowl what do you do? What do you do? Pick a cereal – sugar pops, honeycomb – you know, crunch berries – what the hell’s this doing here? Lucky charms or, my daughter’s favorite – Barbie cereal. I don’t know why, but when I look at this – something happens.

Step three – pour the cereal into the bowl, fill it up – your kid will never eat it all. The good thing here – at least for me, is I get to finish it. You see, shhh! My wife doesn’t let me eat this sugar cereal because she wants me to lose some weight, but what she doesn’t know – won’t hurt me. Please! Don’t hurt me. That’s a lot of cereal.

Okay, step four – pour the milk. I didn’t have any milk so just pretend I’m pouring the white creamy goodness on top of the cereal right now – you can pretend. Wait! Wait! Intern! Dude, give me that beer - excellent, this’ll work. Don’t use beer on your kid’s cereal – that’s illegal, and they probably wouldn’t like it much. I know, I know, its much better for them than milk, but then CPS will come, take your kids and you’ll have to go to court or jail, you’ll have to wear an ankle bracelet – its not pretty.

It’s not that bad. How old is this beer? Hey that’s my daughter! She eats cereal – cool! Cereal gives her the energy to ride this bike. Basically my script wasn’t long enough so I put those shots in there to fill a little bit of time. You know, it was back in the 3rd grade that I first thought about cereal. I used to love the blueberry, frankenberry and count chocular and then came good ole pops. You know I would say that I used to like any number of cereals of a certain sponsor ‘Kellogg’s’ would pony up some cash.

‘Twin 1’: Breakfast – it’s the most important meal of the day I mean eating! It’s so good to eat.

‘Twin 2’: When we were little, we just had a bowl of dirt instead of cereal, and anyone could make anything.

‘Twin 1’: What? That’s all for this week for Dads Lab. how do you live with yourself? Should really think about getting professional help.

‘Twin 2’: Oh that’s a good idea! I’m going to start a company full of my mom’s dirt recipes, called Bradley’s Dirt.

Valentine's Reject

Clasp hands and sing with us. Fee-lings! Whoa...whoa...whoa. Feelings. Something that the dads here at the Labs are not very good at is expressing romance. But that didn't stop us from trying to write heartfelt Valentine's Day letters and poetry to our patient wives. Kinda hoping to get lucky. We failed. In all ways. No sex for us. So we decided to go ahead and share our pathetic attempts at marital communication here in a video. We heart you. DadLabs Ep. 265 The Lab.
