What do my kids learn from Christmas?

You know, I'd love to say we're all about helping people and he's really learning that, and not so much.

They'll learn that they'll get loaded on presents. And Santa will bring mommy and daddy a dose of extra tired, impatient and cranky.

One of the few reasons why I actually had children was because I really wanted to do the whole Christmas thing.

When this toy catalog arrives, he's like a rabbinical student.

Have a big Christmas tree, presents under the Christmas tree. Kids wake up Christmas morning, leaving out the cookies and milk for Santa the night before.

We made a concerted effort to make sure that Santa Claus didn't buy the big stuff.

And I wanted to do this in my own home.

So when they found out that Santa Claus wasn't real, they wouldn't be disappointed. Cause Santa Claus brought the bikes. And so we made sure that mommy and daddy got the bikes and the game systems and all of that so they wouldn't be disappointed when they found out that there really was no Santa Claus.

We do all of it but we do all of it in my family home where I've done Christmas every year I've been alive. What did you do on Christmas growing up?

And he has these elaborate hierarchies of symbols and circles and stars and how that ranks.

I got up in the morning. We opened gifts. Then because we were New York City Jews, we went out to a morning movie.

About a month ago, he's like some kids in my school said Santa Claus is your parents.

And then maybe eat some more Chinese food.

Well what do you think? I was prepared to let it go if was like, "Yeah I've always wondered why Santa buys stuff at Ikea?"
