Ep 546 Gustafer Yellowgold

DADDY BRAD I’m jazzed today because you know who’s in the house? Gustafer Yellowgold is in the house. I’d like to thank our sponsors BabyBjorn the best baby gear in the world, no, the universe, BabyBjorn. I’m really please today to be joined by Morgan Taylor aka the creator of Gustafer Yellowgold. For all of our viewers who don’t know who Gustafer Yellowgold is, give us a little back ground.

MORGAN TAYLOR If I could give you the Gustafer 101. Gustafer Yellowgold is a creature that came to Earth from the sun. He landed in Minnesota and lives there now and is best friends with a pterodactyl who is fashion obsessed. And he has got a pet eel. He’s got this interesting life. He lives off the land. He has a very curious personality. My position is the host between Gustafer and the rest of the world, and explain what Gustafer is doing through these songs. Getting in a tree top high above the yard I spend my day away. Getting in a tree top high above the lawn there’s nothing in the way. You can see happy, you can feel change. You can hear them laughing. It’s strange.

DADDY BRAD Green heart, what’s up with that?

MORGAN TAYLOR It’s a song about behavior. And possibly getting taken over by something like sugar. Or something that makes you misbehave, and you start seeing that your behavior is starting to affect people around you. Its like the moment when you realize that what I do has an affect on other people around you. It’s actually one of the first songs where Gustafer has a conflict like that. I don’t know if you noticed that Gustafer’s world is relatively conflict free.

DADDY BRAD Panther Stamp Pants, now is this a personal loss.

MORGAN TAYLOR I never had an exact pare of pants like that. That song came out, I think there was a series of postage stamps that came out a couple of years ago with blue cats on them, and I called them Panther stamps. I love word play and for some reason this word kept coming up in my head. I thought to myself panther stamp pants knowing that the pterodactyl who is fashion obsessed, who is Gustafers best friend. I thought to my self that’s a pterodactyl song. That kind of dictated where the song went from there. It was funny sort of came out fast. It’s been one that’s a crowed favorite. No dry eyes today sense they away oh my panthers stamp pants have gone away. Safe out on the line, dry them all the time, oh my panther stamp pants have gone away. My panther stamp pants have gone away.

DADDY BRAD We would like to thank BabyBjorn our sponsor the best baby gear in the universe BabyBjorn. If you want to go and check out Gustafer Yellowgold, go to Gustaferyellowgold.com they can buy the CD/DVD, they can buy the boneless action figure. Dude, what more do you need? This music is definitely worth a listen. It is mellow and nice 'easy to learn' lyrics woven onto a background of pleasant catchy melodies. Our kids love the music and I do too. James Taylor without the seriousness.

The Jellydots

Kindie rockers The Jellydots stop in to the studio to talk about their newly released CD "Hey You Kids." Rock out with Doug Snyder and the other bandmates. The Jellydots make music for children with a good pop music feel. They play a couple of great songs, including the pumping "Bicycle." Which is why they are included in our Big Bike Week. The Jellydots create some of the best music for kids that can also be enjoyed by the parents. Unlike other childrens songs, the Jellydots combine a smooth acoustic guitar sound, and have some of the most fun rock music around. Sit back relax and enjoy as these two enjoy a good jam session.
