Final Four Recap with LG

LG took Daddy Brad to the Final Four NCAA basketball tournament and gave them some products to use for the weekend, including an HD Nitro phone with a HD screen and an 8MP camera. They also checked out the Cinema 3D Smart HD TV. Crisp clear 3D imaging and the capability to turn 2D broadcasts into 3D, very cool. Huge thanks to LG for the trip! Check out the blog at Dadlabs.com for info on how you can win a 55" Cinema 3D Smart TV of your very own. Episode 860 is brought to you by LG. Life's good.

[buzzer sounds]
Daddy Brad:  LG sent me, CC Chapman, and Jeff Sass off to New Orleans for the Final Four.
[record scratch]
Daddy Brad:  [stressed] Help! Help!
Daddy Brad:  They fed us great grub, put us up in a fancy hotel and scored us center court tickets to the NCAA national championship basketball game. And all we had to do was try out some of their products, document the weekend and give an honest assessment of what we thought about them. And that seems like a slam dunk to me. Ha, I'm not doing that again.
[buzzer sound]
Daddy Brad:  Woo!
[applause]
Daddy Brad:  So they gave me an LG "Nitro" phone to use. I took pictures, video, text, calls the whole deal. I love the screen. It's got HD television technology in the screen of the phone. I don't think any other phones have that. So it's like watching HD TV on your phone. Beautiful picture. It's also super durable which is good for me because I'm really hard on phones. It's thin, so it fits easily in your pocket and it's got this really nice eight megapixel camera. Oh, look at this, it's a pirogue full of crawfish. Oh those were good. One caveat though, be sure to use the LG charger that comes with it to get the longer battery life.
I also got a chance to check out their Cinema 3D Smart HD TVs. When you put these bad boys on it transforms television into reality it's like you're there. Things are whizzing by it's vivid bright, I really enjoyed them. And also the remote is not like your old remote, its hand recognized, wave of your hand you can change the channel or access content. I really enjoyed these TVs. And the final thing that was interesting is the toggle between 2d and 3d you can actually watch 2d programming in 3d and its easy to go back and forth between the two.
[music]
Daddy Brad:  [exhausted] Woo. Well I'd like to thank LG for taking us to New Orleans. We had a big time in the big easy and I'd like to encourage you to go and check out some of their great electronics products. You know, I think that's about it for me. I am too old to dunk. We'll see you next time here on dadlabs.com.
[music]
Daddy Brad:  Ben did you see me skyin' bro? I mean the ants looked like ants from where I was, way up high.

Daddy Does Retro: Media
In this episode of Daddy Does Retro, Daddy Clay (aka Clay Nichols) gets nostalgic about media. Do kids today consume more media like television, videogames and web video than their parents did? Or just a different kind of media? Us parents watched television reruns of I Love Lucy, The Dick Van Dyke Show, Gilligan's Island and Leave it to Beaver. Whereas today's children watch television tailored to their tastes featuring stars like Zach and Cody and Miley Cyrus. This humorous take claims that kids back in the day watched more media like television and video games than today's kids. DadLabs Ep. 802 is brought to you by BabyBjorn.

Burnie Burns, Co-Founder of Rooster Teeth Studios and Co-Creator of one of our favorite web shows, "Red vs. Blue," chats with Daddy Brad about video games and parenting and some of the benefits of playing video games with your kids. For many parents today, gaming has always been apart of their lives. They grew up with Nintendo, so for video games to be a part of their family life is not surprising. With the online gaming interactivity available today, gaming can be shared across the globe with family and friends. We're all for limiting screen time, but there's no reason you can't share that screen time with your children.
