DADDY BRAD: The dadlabs crew recently had the chance to go out to lovely California

DADDY CLAY: And while we were there we interviewed some really funny and talented dads. Like this guy.

WILLIE BARCENA: I’m going to tell you something, I’m an old school dad. I cant turn on the news without seeing kids talking kids yelling back at their parents. You know what I mean. Everybody is like I cant control my kids. I go to restaurants and people always come up to me and say “hey man your kids are so well behaved how do you do it?” Like it’s a trick. You know how I do it, I say “behave fxxx!” Alright that’s it.

DADDY CLAY: Willie Barcena, thank you for coming in to talk to us, we really appreciate it.

WILLIE BARCENA: No problem brother, thanks for having me. This is really cool I’ve never heard of this labsdad.com right?


DADDY CLAY: Close its dadlabs.com. But its all for dads and we have to have our own video cannel right?

WILLIE BARCENA: Finally, I think this is good because that Dr. Phil Oprah is taking over and we need something to balance it. For that mans man kind of dad right?


DADDY CLAY: We got to come strong. You have three kids, tell me about your kids.

WILLIE BARCENA: I have a fourteen year old, a twelve, and a five man. Anybody out there with a five year old you know its not that fun. My fourteen year old I have fun with him, I play baseball with him. He’s a shortstop, he’s a bad ass little dude. My twelve year old same thing, MMA fighter, but the five year old, its like having a little retarded friend. Its not fun man. I throw him the ball, hits him in the face.

WILLIE BARCENA: If you’re the last one born in your family and the reason why your kind of nutty is because nobody really gives a shit about you. You know I had energy with my fourteen year old. I was disciplinarian I was like hey man watch your mouth, go to your room, and my twelve year old same thing I was on him. You know my five year old gets out of line, I go to my room bro. I’m like dude, peace out whatever play with nails, here’s a hammer get away from me. What I hate about little league today is that everybody can play. If your kid sucks he shouldn’t play. He should practice his ass off so he could get in there. At life you know we don’t take turns at being doctors. Your not like oh its my turn to be a doctor, no! You’re a doctor because you worked your ass off. You studied you got your degrees and you became a doctor.


DADDY CLAY: So your on the road a lot. How do you manage to stay in touch with your kids while your away?

WILLIE BARCENA: A lot of phone calls brother, a lot of phone calls. I’m always calling them. You know “hey how was practice today, what went wrong?” If they went to their boxing class, I say “how was it? You know what did you work on?” You know I love my kids but sometimes I just want to get a way. That’s the good thing about being on the road, you can say I love you from far away, kind of like a mother-in-law.

DADDY CLAY: Also, travel. Is that a big headache? Do your kids like to do it?

WILLIE BARCENA: Dude I love it man. I love it when I’m on the road. Sometimes we’ll fly sometimes we’ll drive. My favorite is driving man. We take drives from Los Angeles to San Francisco and you stop in the middle of know where at houses that have been abandoned. And I’ll pull over and they will be two story houses. Just for fun we will walk around in them. It’s like a real haunted house, because you really might get killed.


WILLIE BARCENA: I tried to do something spontaneous. Before we had kids I used to drive around Hollywood hills. It’s all dark and desolate, you know what youngsters do. You know I pulled over it was dark and the gear shift was stabbing me but you don’t care you will worry about it tomorrow. So anyways bro I tried that the other day with my wife, trying to be spontaneous. I drove at night really far man up in the hills. You know its different when your older. I pulled over, it was really dark and I got on her side, I got scared man. Do you know how hard it is to have sex when your scared? I was like did you hear that? Did you lock the door? Maybe we should go now.
