A vasectomy how-to from the guys at DadLabs. The dads talk to a urologist who explains what happens to men during this surgical procedure. Vasectomies are another birth control and contraception option for couples who want to stay away from a tubal ligation surgery for a woman. DadLabs Ep. 87 The Lab.
CLAY Since the topic of this segment is vasectomy, I’d like to get a few things out of the way. Erection, sperm, semen, ejaculation...
BRAD Daddy Clay...
CLAY ...testes, seminal fluid...
BRAD Daddy Clay, what are you doing?
CLAY I just want to get this out of the way, so that everybody can have their little chuckle and we can move on with the segment.
BRAD You think people still laugh at erection, or semen?
CLAY Well...Yeah.
BRAD You need to watch more prime time, dude. Commercials have gone all urological.
CLAY How about “smegma?”
BRAD Now “smegma” is a word that you don’t hear nearly enough. But when it comes to vasectomy, the really disturbing words are things like “snipped,” “clipped,” and “fixed.”
CLAY But these words are fitting, because as we all know “vasectomy” is just a nice word for having your balls completely cut off.
BRAD I’m not sure that’s exactly how it works.
CLAY So they don’t cut off the balls.
BRAD No.
CLAY Not even if the doctor slips.
BRAD They use tiny scissors, not a scalpel.
CLAY And you can still “pop a boner” as the young kids say.
BRAD It doesn’t affect your ability to achieve an erection.
CLAY And your scrotum doesn’t blow up ‘cause all the baby batter collects there?
BRAD Vasectomy does not change the amount or look of seminal fluid released at ejaculation.
CLAY Well, if the procedure is so simple, perhaps we should see some close ups. Roll that ball sack footage.
BRAD Despite all the queasiness that guys may feel, vasectomy is a safe, permanent and effective form of birth control.
CLAY And if you are married, it prevents your spouse from having to undergo a much more expensive and dangerous tubal ligation, or from using other birth control with less effectiveness and unwanted side effects.
BRAD In other words vasectomy actually makes a great Mother’s Day gift, and might even get you some play.
CLAY If you are considering vasectomy, there are some things you may want to consider.
BRAD If you are one of the more than a half a million American men that elect to have a vasectomy each year, drop us a comment and let us know what went into your decision.
CLAY That’s all for us, here at the DadLabs. BRAD Dude would you get snipped?
