Daddy Clay Ruins Owen's Birthday Surprise

I'm a loser, and Owen basically owns me for the rest of my natural life.

Here's what happened. Owen walks into DadLabs WHQ and announces that as a surprise birthday gift, he is getting his wife's name tattooed on his ass. In addition, he was grabbing Aaron and Dixie so that he could film the aforementioned body decoration for an episode of DL.

This was a Thursday, so there was a live show to do, which I teased on Twitter by thusly "Tune in to DadLabs Live" and find out which Dad is getting his wife's name tattooed on his ass. The live show starts and I open with the tattoo thing. Brad stops by to say hi, Troy, as usual, is my unwitting sidekick because his desk is in camera range.

About ten minutes into the show, I get a call from Owen. He's at the tattoo parlor and he's pissed. "You RUINED my SURPRISE! Jodi is watching the show and she can see Brad and Troy so she DID THE MATH!" This all happens on the air.

"So now," rages the little man, "to reintroduce surprise, I will have to tattoo another body part, and it might not he her name."

From watching the vid you can tell he made good on the first threat, but not the second.

The dangers of mixing Twitter, UStream and Tattoos. I just assumed nobody was watching.

Owen should make Daddy Clay ware the pregnant man suit for a month.

I've seen some cool tats on parents who do some kind of symbol with the name of their kid. I am planning on a my son's baby foot print inside a sun with his name and birthdate and have one done similar for every child we have. But we have also decided not to use each other's names because everyone we know who's had a spouse or significant other's name in tat has ended badly. It's bad mojo. Good for kids, bad for spouses and significant others... anecdotally of course. But it looks good on you Owen =).

I know Jody really is the love of your life. But, do you remembering saying that you would get a tattoo of Carl? I know, I know, you were probably just excited about being with the beautiful Percy dog that day in the reading nook, but, maybe you should head back to the tattoo parlor!
