Owen Egerton and his cute daughter Arden give a kids review of the Star Wars movies. Arden discusses C3PO, R2D2, Darth Vader, Han Solo and other Star Wars characters. It’s amazing the knowledge kids have of the star wars empire at such a young age. Owen discusses jar jar binks and his review of star wars episode one. Watch this funny video of a kid’s take on star wars, and see what Arden says is the acceptable age at which it becomes a kids movie. DadLabs ep. 526.
Daddy Owen: Hi and welcome back to conversations with Arden. Today we're going to talk about movies. But only the good ones right?
Arden: I want to talk about Star Wars.
Daddy Owen: Of course, naturally. So what is the stuff you love in Star Wars?
Arden: Luke Skywalker. And I love when when the bad guy is big.
Daddy Owen: Oh, the bad guy. What does he sound like?
[Arden breathes heavily]
Daddy Owen: That's right. What's his name?
Arden: Darth Vader.
Daddy Owen: And do you remember what happens in the story?
Arden: Darth Vader trapped Princess Leia.
Daddy Owen: And who comes to help her?
Arden: Luke Skywalker.
Daddy Owen: And some of his friends. Do you remember his friends' names?
Arden: R2D2 and C3PO.
Daddy Owen: Have you ever seen Star Wars?
Arden: No. We talked about it.
Daddy Owen: You talked about it. Why haven't you seen Star Wars yet?
Arden: It's scary.
Daddy Owen: Yeah, maybe wait until we get a little older?
Arden: When I'm eight years old.
Daddy Owen: Eight years old seems like a pretty good time to watch Star Wars.
Arden: Will you remind me?
Daddy Owen: Yeah, when you're eight years old I'll remind you to watch Star Wars because it is a little scary. And how old are you now.
Arden: Four.
Daddy Owen: You know what scared me a lot? Episode One, not because it was scary but because it was so crappy.
Arden: Can you talk about that with me?
Daddy Owen: Episode One? Well C3PO and R2D2 are in that one, too. And Darth Vader's just a little kid.
Arden: What?
Daddy Owen: I know, Darth Vader's just a little kid!
Arden: What!?
Daddy Owen: I know, and he's not a bad guy yet.
Arden: What?
Daddy Owen: He's a good guy!
Arden: What?
Daddy Owen: And there's a guy named Jar Jar Binks.
Arden: What the?
Daddy Owen: And he's pretty annoying.
Arden: Does he say "what the?"?
Daddy Owen: You know I think he probably does say "what the?" a couple of times.
Daddy Owen: I can't wait until you're nine.
Arden: Why?
Daddy Owen: Because that's when we get to watch it.
Arden: No, first I was one, I was, two, I was three and now I'm four. Then I'll be five, then I'll be six, then I'll be 7, then I'll be 8 and then I will be 9.
Daddy Owen: And then we can watch it? Deal! High five. Maybe by that time they'll have made the Clone Wars 4.
Awesome video. This conversation is quite familiar! My son will be four in a month and a half. He's already seen all six live action Star Wars movies, the Clone Wars animated feature, and many of the Clone Wars cartoon TV episodes. We started with the original Star Wars figuring that wouldn't be too scary for him, and much easier for us to take than another viewing of Disney's Hercules! He loved it so much we just kept watching. There were a few parts that scared him the first time he saw them, but having now watched them all multiple times, he's totally into it and not scared at all. So, I think how old a kid should be before they watch Star Wars (or anything) really depends on the kid.
My 5yr old couldn't handle them written by krellpw,

I agree with Michael that it depends on the kid, but I know my 5yr old isn't ready for them. He might get through the original (I guess that's episode 4 now?). But everything after that would all be too dark and graphic for him.
We got chased out of the theater last weekend watching "Up." The storm sequence was too much for him.
